What is private 5G as a service?
It is a delivery model where the provider (Aerix) owns and operates the private 5G network on your site, and you pay a monthly fee. You get all the benefits of a dedicated private cellular network — control, performance, security — without buying equipment, hiring RF engineers, or running a procurement project.
How is this different from buying a private 5G network outright?
A traditional private 5G build is a capital project: you specify, procure, deploy and operate the network yourself (or pay a systems integrator to). Costs run into hundreds of thousands of pounds and timelines stretch to months or quarters. Private 5G as a service replaces that capex and timeline with a flat monthly subscription and a few weeks to live.
What does the monthly fee cover?
Everything: site survey, network design, radios and core equipment, Ofcom shared access spectrum licensing, professional installation, 24/7 monitoring, ongoing maintenance, software updates, and UK-based support. There are no separate invoices for service calls or upgrades.
How long does deployment take?
Most sites go live within four to eight weeks of contract signature, depending on planning and any landlord consents. Standard kit and a repeatable deployment process keep timelines short.
Can I scale up later?
Yes. Add more radios, expand coverage, or onboard more devices as you grow. Because we own the equipment, scale is just a change to the subscription, not a procurement cycle.
Is there a long-term contract?
No long minimum term. Most customers take a 12-month rolling agreement; longer commitments unlock better pricing.
